Apart from this, he had attained complete enlightenment on this day and he became Mahatma Gautam Buddha from Prince Siddhartha. Buddha Purnima is also called "Vaisakh Purnima" because it is celebrated in the second month of the Hindi calendar. Although this festival is celebrated by every religion nowadays, in Buddhism, this festival has its special significance.

Gautam Buddha, who considered truth and non-violence as the basis of his life and the originator of Buddhism, was a spiritual leader, based on whose great ideas, teachings, and the foundation of Buddhism were laid.

Born as a prince named Siddhartha, Gautam Buddha was kept away from worldly sorrows and sufferings by his father in his childhood, because in his childhood of Gautam Buddha, a great scholar had predicted that he would either become a majestic or a wise man. Will become a king or become such a spiritual master and leader who will be worshipped for ages.

After hearing the prophecy of the pundit, his father kept Prince Siddhartha away from religious and worldly knowledge for many years and did not allow him to hear any thoughts about suffering, pain, death, illness, and suffering.

He was not even allowed to come out of the palace, but once when Siddhartha insisted that he would be taken to see the city, he saw a helpless elderly, sick and a dead body, after seeing this his mind was disturbed and he renounced all his pleasures and worldly attachments and went out for self-knowledge and self-contemplation and then after many years of rigorous penance, he attained supreme knowledge on the day of Buddha Purnima.

Then later, one of the largest religions in the world was established Buddhism based on the teachings of Gautam Buddha.
