Every girl lives all the nine forms of Durga in her entire life. All the nine forms of Goddess Durga are the complete life cycle of a girl.  Goddess Durga, a fierce warrior and a compassionate woman at the same time. Just as a girl lives the nine incarnations of Goddess Durga in her life, in the same way she should imbibe these qualities of Goddess Durga.

Be Fearless and Confident

Many girls have the inferiority complex of being a girl. Durga, the Shakti, killed Mahishasur when he defeated all the Gods including Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Mahesh. She killed Mahishasur in the battle of good vs. evil. Goddess Durga set an example of not feeling inferior at any cost. This trait of Goddess Durga needs to be imbibed in the present-day context by every woman.

This is the biggest lesson for our society also that for the victory of good over evil we need gender independence.

Be a Multi-Tasker

Goddess Durga has multiple hands. She has many weapons and other instruments in her hands. We can say that she is an ultimate multi-tasker. We all know the value of being focused but we can’t deny the importance of multi-tasking. Being a multi-tasker you not only save your time but also keep yourself mentally active and energetic.

Play Multiple Roles

Every woman is born with this quality. Just like Goddess Durga, in today’s world, a woman plays multiple roles in her life. She is a devoted mother, hardworking homemaker. Along with this, she also helps her family financially, whether she works outside, runs a business or runs his house well with her husband's salary and saves also.

Transformation

We worship nine avatars or forms of Goddess Durga on the nine days of Navratri. The nine manifestations of the Goddess have a story of their own. There is an important lesson hidden here that you should be ready to transform yourself according to situations. Be yourself but adapt your manner and style as per the situation. Be ready to handle different situations in different ways. Don’t let a person consider your silence as your cowardice.

Importance of Hard work

We can achieve anything with hard work. Goddess Durga, in the form of Parvati or Brahmcharini, did severe penance to marry Lord Shiva. Parvati is the daughter of the King of the Himalayas. Though she is a beautiful princess and a powerful Goddess, she has to leave her comfort zone, perform penance in the dense forest dedicatedly to achieve her goal of marrying Lord Shiva. She ate fruits and flowers for thousand years, then for more hundreds of years she ate only vegetables. After that she ate only fallen leaves then she quitted food and water. Then she was blessed by Lord Brahma that she would get married to Lord Shiva. When such a powerful Goddess has to work hard to get lord Shiva as her husband, what are we humans then?

The lesson we get from this story is that we need to do hard work patiently and leave our comfort zone to gain something. I you do something dedicatedly with consistency then nothing is impossible to achieve.

The Power of Unity

Goddess Durga was created by the trinity Lord Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh and the lesser Gods.  She was created to kill the demon Mahishasur who could be only killed by a female. She is made of their collective energy and the true source of their inner power.

Thus the unity of all the Gods has created her to save humanity from the atrocities of Mahishasur. This story of her birth depicts the power of unity.

The power of compassionate

Maa Durga is fearless but she is an embodiment of love and compassion.  It is a virtue to be kind and helpful to others and the story of Maa Durga, equal parts of destroyer and creator, provides invaluable learning of these traits to us. She teaches us to choose peace over violence. Muscle power is not everything. If you are emotionally strong you can deal with adversities easily.

Being focused

It is very important for a woman to voice her opinions but in the right manner. Whenever I see any Durga idol, the eyes of the Goddess stand out always. Be focused on your goals is something we can learn from Goddess Durga.

Retain your inner strength

Having inner strength is equally important. If we are strong from the inside, it automatically reflects on the outside. The story of ‘Mahishasur Mardini’ teaches us to overcome fears and turning them into your strength. Mahishasur was so powerful demon that any other God was unable to kill him so they created Maa Durga. She not only killed Mahishasur but also killed many other evil demons like Chand-Mund, Raktbeej, Madhu-kaitabh and Shumbh Nishumbh because of her willpower. Just like her, you have to rely on yourself to win the battle of life.

Be positive

Goddess Durga uses her vision and positivity to overcome evil.  There will always be a demon to create hurdles in your ways, but the spirit of not giving up and raise your voice when needed will give you the strength to overcome that situation. You should try to solve the matter by being positive and calm.

There is much more to learn from Goddess Durga to become a better version of ourselves. These lessons from Maa Durga teach us that every woman needs to find her own Durga to survive in this evil world and emerge victoriously.
